Overview
Yuchen completed a PhD in chemical engineering at the University of New South Wales in 2016, focusing on aluminium electrolysis. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate for five years with research interests in chemical engineering process modelling, monitoring, control and data-based approaches. During his study and work, Yuchen applied for two patents based on his research, developing a keen interest in IP as a result.
He joined Spruson & Ferguson as a Patent Scientist in our Chemical & Life Sciences team in 2021, and qualified as a Patent Attorney in 2023. He assists local and overseas clients from food and beverage, mining and metallurgy, agriculture, and chemical and chemical processing industries with patent drafting, prosecution and portfolio management.
Yuchen is a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Institute of Engineers Australia and an associate member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers.
