Overview
Huang Xigui Michael has over 10 years of experience in patent drafting, filing, patent invalidation, freedom to operate analysis and litigation.
Michael received his PhD in Biochemistry in 2007, focusing on endocrine factors such as growth hormone, prolactin, gonadotropin and their receptors. After that, he was a research associate in the Department of Biochemistry in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, responsible for grant proposal drafting and providing technical guidance to graduate students. He then gained valuable industry experience working for a Hong Kong pharmaceutical company and developing Tuberculosis detection kits before joining a major Chinese patent firm to become a senior patent attorney. He practiced in that firm handling patent prosecution matters mainly for international clients for 10 years before joining Spruson and Ferguson.
Michael is a qualified patent agent. He is skillful in molecular biology, genetic engineering, protein engineering, enzymology, biopharmaceutical and organic polymers. He is also an author of over 10 scientific publications.
