Overview
Mark is an Australian and New Zealand Patent and Trade Marks Attorney, with close to 30 years’ experience, including as an in-house patent attorney at a multinational pharmaceutical company. He specialises in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the areas of general, organic and pharmaceutical chemistry, chemical processing, pharmacology, nanotechnology and molecular biology, food technology, and medical devices.
Mark is experienced in conducting patent oppositions and advising on patent related litigation, as well as providing advice on patentability, patent infringement and validity. His expertise also includes pharmaceutical extensions of term and conducting IP audits.
Mark is a Fellow of the IPTA Academy of Education and a former tutor for its course on patent infringement and validity. Since 2007 he has been a Guest Lecturer in Patent Law (Masters of Intellectual Property Law) at the University of Melbourne.
Mark is a former co-author of the Australian chapter of the Lexis Nexis publication International Pharmaceutical Law and Practice. He is currently a member of the Trans Tasman IP Attorneys Board Disciplinary Tribunal.
Mark has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
