Overview

Lucy is a Special Counsel in the Litigation & Disputes team at Spruson & Ferguson Lawyers. Her experience includes work on a range of intellectual property proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia, including copyright infringement proceedings, patent infringement and revocation proceedings (particularly in the pharmaceutical area), trade mark infringement, revocation and cancellation proceedings, and appeals from decisions of the Commissioner of Patents and the Registrar of Trade Marks.

Lucy also has experience with patent and trade mark opposition proceedings, and has advised across a range of intellectual property law and regulatory issues, in both non contentious and contentious settings, including with a view to resolving disputes before they escalate.

Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson Lawyers, Lucy practiced as a Senior Associate in intellectual property litigation and advice in a leading domestic law firm in Sydney. She also has experience in the fields of legal publishing and public policy, and before qualifying as a solicitor, Lucy practiced as a medical practitioner in the NSW public hospital system.

Lucy holds a Masters degree in Industrial Property.

Lucy is a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand Inc.
