Overview
Joyce obtained her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biomedical Science from University of Dundee, United Kingdom, and PhD degree in Medical Science from Griffith University, Australia. Her research focuses on discovering cellular factors critical for virus infection and pathogenesis of mosquito-borne RNA viruses (including dengue virus, chikungunya virus, Zika virus, Ross River virus, and Barmah Forest virus) and human respiratory viruses (including SARS-CoV-2 and the seasonal coronaviruses).
Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson (Asia), Joyce was a research scientist for the Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases at Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore where she worked on antiviral development against emerging pathogens. Joyce is currently involved in the drafting and prosecution of patents in the field of virology, molecular biology, pharmacology, and biotechnology.
