Overview
James completed a PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Queensland, focusing on the chemical synthesis of steroidal compounds. This research was applied to elucidate the function of Cytochrome P450 enzymes, and to develop steroidal inhibitors of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Having developed a keen interest in IP during his PhD studies, James undertook an internship before joining Spruson & Ferguson in January 2021 as a Patent Scientist in the Chemical/Life Sciences team. He is now a registered attorney and is developing his practice in the areas of organic chemistry and pharmaceutical inventions.
