Overview
Grace’s practice involves drafting patent specifications, freedom to operate searches and opinions, validity searches and opinions, providing advice with regard to patent validity and enforcement, and prosecution of patent applications in the chemical field. Grace is registered as a Patent Attorney in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand and is a registered Trade Mark Attorney in Australia.
Grace joined the Chemical and Life Sciences team of Spruson and Ferguson in 2013 after four years at the Australian Patent Office as a Patent Examiner in the Chemical examination unit. During her time with the Office, Grace searched and examined both PCT and National Phase patent applications in the chemical fields, including organic, inorganic, electrochemistry, polymorph, medicinal, and pharmaceutical. Grace’s years of experience as both Patent Examiner and Patent Attorney allows her to offer clients insightful and all-rounded advice from both perspectives.
Grace conducts lectures and seminars on behalf of IP Academy (the training arm of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore) both locally and overseas. Grace was also a lecturer for the Drafting Patent Specifications course at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), which is part of their Master of Intellectual Property and Innovation Management programme.
Grace holds a Masters of Intellectual Property Laws from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore.
