Overview
Emilie completed a Master’s Degree in mechanical and automation Engineering at the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées of Rennes (France), as well as a Bachelor of Science at the University of Rennes (France). She also completed a diploma in Intellectual Property specialized in Patents at the Center for international Intellectual Property Studies (University of Strasbourg, France).
Emilie is qualified as European and French patent Attorney. Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson, she worked for 8 years in one of France’s leading IP firms while working for European and foreign clients. She specialized in patent preparation and prosecution in a range of fields including automotive, aeronautical, and building and constructions, and in handling freedom to operate issues. She developed also strong skills in anti-counterfeiting operations in France, and accompanying clients in infringement cases before French court.
Emilie also gained industrial experience at an international high-technology group operation in the aviation, defence and space market, where she worked as patent engineer and participated in the development, optimization and positioning of the patent portfolio in line with the needs of the business.
Emilie started her career at the French Patent Office (INPI) where she worked for 5 years as a patent examiner. Emilie developed a keen understanding of the principles of the patent system and enjoyed accompanying applicants in their process to protect innovations.
