Overview
Prior to joining Spruson and Ferguson, Charles has gained considerable experience in handling worldwide patent prosecution cases, in particular for applications filed at the CNIPA, the USPTO and the European Patent Office.
Charles’ practice focuses on patent drafting, searching, filing and prosecuting, as well as advising on patentability, validity and infringement. He works with both international and local clients and provides strategic advice on patent matters in a wide range of technical fields. He has been working closely with clients and foreign associates and involved in hundreds of product clearance cases. His clients have included among others large local companies, universities, start-ups and multinational corporations both from Hong Kong as well as overseas.
Charles has a PhD in Electronic Engineering and a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property (with distinction) both from The University of Hong Kong.
