Silvia Li Yao holds a PhD degree in Chemical & Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She conducted her PhD research on electronic properties of carbon nanotubes in solar cells and polymer composites, during which she spent 1.5 years at the University of California, Santa Barbara as a Visiting Scholar.
Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson (Asia), Silvia worked for two years as a researcher in Renew Group Pte Ltd, Singapore. She was in charge of a collaboration project with the Singapore University of Technology and Design on the topic of functional polymer nanocomposites. Her job scope covered material processing, device fabrication and testing, product prototyping and evaluation of applications.
At Spruson & Ferguson (Asia), Silvia is involved in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in Singapore and overseas.
