Shannon is a registered Australian Trade Marks Attorney and Of Counsel at Spruson & Ferguson’s Brisbane office. Shannon has a broad range of experience in trade marks, including brand searching and clearance, trade mark filing, prosecution and registration, trade mark portfolio management and advice, trade mark oppositions and removal proceedings, and general dispute resolution.

Having worked with a number of well-known Australian and international brand owners across many industries including mining and natural resources, construction, software, FMCG, nutritional supplements, food and beverages, banking and finance and fashion, Shannon has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of trade marks. She is experienced in securing protection for clients in Australia, New Zealand and overseas, including via the Madrid System for the International Registration of trade marks.

Shannon started her career working as a Senior Trade Marks Examiner at the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand. This unique experience has equipped Shannon with an in-depth and broad understanding of the operations of the trade mark system and how to achieve a practical outcome for her clients.

Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson, Shannon spent nearly eight years working for a reputable Australian IP firm.

Shannon is a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ) and the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA). She is admitted as a solicitor in Queensland and New Zealand.
