Overview
Max graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore (NUS). His final year project involved the design and synthesis of new chiral diene ligands for use in asymmetrical catalysis.
He then pursued his postgraduate education at NUS in Medicinal Chemistry. His thesis focused on the developing new methodologies for the convergent synthesis of chondroitin sulfate, analyzing its effects on various cancers, developing new protocols for elucidating its mechanisms of action.
Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson, Max worked as a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore. He was involved in studying the effects of metastatic suppressors and promoters, and their role in signalling pathways in various cancer cell lines.
