Overview
Based in Singapore, Wen Yu is a highly experienced Principal in Spruson & Ferguson’s ICT practice. Registered as a Singapore Patent Attorney since 2006, she brings more than two decades of experience spanning private practice and in-house roles, including at general law and specialist IP firms, and corporate IP functions.
Known for her technical insight and commercial acumen, Wen Yu has a strong track record in drafting and prosecuting patents across Singapore and key international jurisdictions. She advises clients on strategic patent portfolio management and develops protection strategies tailored to their business objectives. Her work also includes conducting complex patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate, and infringement analyses.
Her technical focus spans a wide range of fields including electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical devices, computer-implemented inventions, semiconductors, and optics.
Committed to the development of the IP profession, Wen Yu has also served on the Examination Committee appointed by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), where she contributed to the setting and assessment of the Patent Agents Qualifying Examination.
