Geremy obtained a diploma in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, where he first became acquainted with the technical field of optoelectronics and conducted research in relation to holography. During his time in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, he was employed by the Photonics Center, School of Engineering, to further his research on holography and guide laboratory students in lab work and final year projects.
Subsequent to his diploma, Geremy obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Edinburgh. During the course of his studies, Geremy wrote a dissertation on military electronics. Geremy later obtained a Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law jointly awarded by the National University of Singapore and IP Academy of Singapore.
Prior to joining IP practice, Geremy worked as an engineer in notable multinational corporations such as Pioneer Electronics and Siemens VDO, where he specialized in electronic analog circuit designs for car audio systems.
Before joining Spruson & Ferguson (Asia), Geremy was an in-house patent counsel for a Multinational Corporation (consumer electronics) where he managed the IP portfolio and handled patent work (including patent drafting and prosecution) for the corporation’s inventions. Geremy also assisted in IP infringement and litigation matters during his time with the corporation. Geremy has also worked in boutique patent firms dealing with patent work.
At Spruson & Ferguson (Asia), Geremy is involved in the drafting and prosecution of both local and overseas patent applications, especially those in the electrical and electronics field.
