Overview

Gary has more than 30 years’ experience gained in private and in-house practice roles. Gary was a Director of Cullens Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys prior to the merge of Cullens with Spruson & Ferguson.

Gary has patent expertise across a number of areas, including minerals processing and extractive metallurgy, chemical engineering, coal processing, medical devices and mechanical devices and equipment.

Gary also has extensive experience with trade marks and has provided strategic advice on and managed large international trade mark portfolios.

Prior to entering private practice, Gary was in-house patent counsel for Sirotech Ltd, the commercialisation arm of CSIRO and an examiner at the Australian Patent Office. Awarded the Institute of Patent Attorneys of Australia medal in 1990, Gary frequently gives presentations on intellectual property matters.

Gary is a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney, a registered Australian Trade Mark Attorney and a Fellow of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia.
