Emma specialises in trade mark prosecution.
Emma has experience in clearance searching of trade marks and industrial designs, prosecution of Madrid applications and national applications, management of trade mark portfolios, maintenance and exploitation of registrations as well as conducting IP due diligence.
Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson, Emma worked in a leading full service law firm in Singapore where she gained substantial experience in IP prosecution. Emma has worked with clients across a wide range of sectors, including retailers, property developers, railway companies and financial institutions. In startups, Emma has experience in advising on trade mark issues related to blockchain technology, cryptocurrency and application software.
Emma graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with an Economics degree and the University of Birmingham with an LLB degree. She passed the assessments for Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and IP Litigator (United Kingdom) and obtained IP Litigation Certificate with distinction. She is also a registered Australian Trade Mark Attorney.
Emma is currently a member of Hong Kong Singapore Business Association. She has organised IP Law seminars for Hong Kong joint universities alumni at Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore.
