Overview

Elijah obtained his Ph.D. and Bachelor of Science (Life Science) from the National University of Singapore. His undergraduate and graduate research experience was in the field of T cell immunology. He studied the effect on T cell signalling by chemical inhibitors through screening chemical inhibitor libraries. He also identified inhibitors of the cell cycle protein Cdc7 can modulate T cell signalling and affect T cell activation. Prior to his undergraduate research project, Elijah also had research attachments in A*STAR, Singapore, where he had experience in studying allergic reactions, including working with asthma models.

Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson, Elijah worked as a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, where he studied the host determinants of Enterovirus 71 infection by screening siRNA libraries for important host factors that can be exploited for developing effective treatments for Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease.
