Overview
Dr Elijah Chen holds a PhD and Bachelor of Science (Life Science) from the National University of Singapore, with a specialisation in immunology and virology. With nine years of research experience, his work has focused on T cell immunology and host determinants of viral infections.
During his PhD and undergraduate research, Elijah investigated T cell signaling pathways, screening chemical inhibitor libraries and identifying inhibitors of the cell cycle protein Cdc7 that modulate T cell activation. His early research experience at A*STAR, Singapore, involved studying allergic reactions and working with asthma models.
Before joining Spruson & Ferguson, Elijah worked as a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, where he screened siRNA libraries to identify host factors influencing Enterovirus 71 infection—research aimed at developing treatments for Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.
