Overview
Edward’s practice is primarily focused on providing patent services and advice for inventions relating to peptides, organic chemistry, enzyme catalysis as well as other chemical and biotechnology related fields. His unique academic background spanning chemical and biochemical arts enables close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
With a focus on developing durable non-ribosomal peptide antibiotics and enzymatic strategies for accessing them, Ed completed his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the Biomedical Discovery Institute at Monash University.
This work included the development of a robust solid-phase synthesis strategy for the ramoplanin class of peptide antibiotics enabling rapid access to this long sought after class of molecules.
Presently he is pursuing a Masters of Intellectual Property Law at the University of Melbourne while training to be patent attorney in Melbourne.
