Duarte Lima

Over six years at INSEAD, Duarte served in multiple leadership roles, including Executive Director of Strategy & Planning, Chief Risk Officer, and Chief of Staff. He was a key member of the Executive Committee, acting as the Dean’s right hand and overseeing Strategy & Planning, Communications & External Relations, and executive offices in Abu Dhabi and San Francisco.

During his tenure, he played a crucial role in developing and executing Strategy 2028, which aligned INSEAD’s vision with its strategic objectives, and driving financial performance through setting and achieving EBITDA margin targets. Additionally, he was instrumental in guiding INSEAD through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring the institution remained agile and resilient during this period of global disruption.

Duarte also has significant experience in Europe’s financial and professional services sectors. At Thomson Reuters, he led the development and implementation of financial software for major financial services firms, and at Dar Al-Handasah, he conducted financial and economic feasibility assessments for large-scale projects. His early career included roles in mergers and acquisitions at Haitong Investment Bank and BANIF Commercial & Investment Bank.

Duarte completed his MBA at INSEAD, and holds an MSc in Finance and a BSc in Business Administration from Nova School of Business and Economics.
