Overview
Analine graduated with a Master in Chemistry (Honours) from The University of Edinburgh which included a one-year industrial placement at DuPont Experimental Station (US). At DuPont, Analine worked on a biofuel project to extract sugar from biomass.
Upon graduation, Analine joined an established law firm in Japan as a Chemical Technologist Specialist and spent almost nine years there. During her tenure, she was involved in patent prosecution, infringement and invalidation matters and was one of the Co-Leaders of the foreign biotech and chemical practice team. She handled inventions in the fields of industrial chemistry, physical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry and materials science in various jurisdictions such as Japan, Europe, US and China.
Following her stint in Japan, Analine took up an in-house position with a Singapore company in the gemstone industry and was responsible for managing the company’s patent portfolio. In addition to this, Analine had experience in Court proceedings in Singapore where she assisted the company in overturning the Singapore High Court’s decision on patent validity and infringement in a landmark decision. Analine also assisted the company in a US patent lawsuit.
