We had the pleasure of receiving a visit from Dr Colin Bodkin, author of Patent Law in Australia, in our Sydney office last week. Colin presented the third edition of his book to Tracey Berger, Managing Director Australia/New Zealand and some of the Principals and Senior Associates of our firm.
Tracey said: “It’s a privilege to welcome Colin for the publication of the third edition of Patent Law in Australia. Colin’s book has become a key reference for patent attorneys, and we congratulate Colin for writing a book so highly regarded in the profession.”
Colin was a Principal of Spruson & Ferguson when he retired in 2002 and started writing the first edition of what quickly became a key reference within the patent attorney profession and for solicitors and barristers practicing in the patent field, as well as for the Courts.
It took Colin about three years to finish the first edition but the work didn’t stop there as an online edition followed, which Colin updates several times a year to include the latest developments in case law and the relevant legislation.
Unsurprisingly, as soon as the third edition was released it quickly sold out in book stores in Sydney’s CBD. The book can also be purchased online.
Once again, we congratulate Colin for the publication of the third edition of Patent Law in Australia and it was great to welcome him back to Spruson & Ferguson!
