Overview
Le Hong Minh graduated from a joint program between the National University of Singapore and Eindhoven University of Technology with a Master of Technological Design degree, specialising in product development. His thesis on global product development won both the Certificate of Merit and Best Thesis awards from the program.
Minh also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from the National University of Singapore. In recognition of his academic achievements, Minh received full-time scholarships at all levels of his education.
Before joining Spruson & Ferguson (Asia), Minh worked in a R&D role at a medical device company where he was technical project leader of a new product development project and was primarily responsible for improving a product concept, resulting in a family of patent applications in which he was named an inventor.
At Spruson & Ferguson (Asia), Minh leads the Engineering patents department and regularly works with major multinational corporations, government research agencies, universities and local companies to provide patent strategy and portfolio management.
Minh’s practice includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a broad range of technologies, including medical devices and equipment, industrial systems, aerospace, oil & gas, automotive and semiconductor manufacturing. Minh also conducts searches and provides opinions on patentability and infringement issues. In addition to his patent work, Minh oversees the design practice in Singapore and handles a portfolio of registered designs relating to consumer products, medical instruments, home furnishing, and graphic user interface.
Minh has considerable experience handling patent and design applications in Asia-Pacific and as a native Vietnamese speaker, Minh is a main contact for patent matters in Vietnam.
