Protection of IP Rights in Fiji

Two types of patent applications can be sought in Fiji. The first being a national Fijian patent application and the second a registration of a UK patent (including a validated EP (UK) patent) in Fiji within three years of the date of issue of the UK patent.

There are two types of trade mark registration systems in Fiji. Firstly, registration may be independent, that is stand-alone and not based on an existing foreign registration. Secondly, registration may be based on an existing, corresponding United Kingdom registration.
