Sarah McKeith is a senior associate with Spruson Ferguson Lawyers working in both the Litigation Team and the Commercial Transactions and Advice Team.
Sarah advises clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious IP issues.
In her contentious IP work, Sarah has worked in patent and trade mark disputes, infringement proceedings and actions for breaches of the Australian Consumer Law in the Federal Court of Australia. She also has experience in copyright litigation.
In her non-contentious IP work, Sarah advises clients on issues relating to IP ownership, product development, strategic protection of IP and the drafting of manufacturing, licensing, distribution and service agreements. Sarah provides general commercial advice to businesses on a range of matters including the Australian Consumer Law, privacy, e-commerce, trade practices and establishment of business presence in Australia.
Sarah also has experience in conducting due diligence on IP transactions. She has provided advice on a number of transactions, including advising Australian companies on acquisitions of businesses in the fashion and snack foods industries and private equity sponsors in acquisitions of businesses in the credit information, flight services and fashion industries.
Before joining Spruson & Ferguson Lawyers, Sarah practised in intellectual property litigation and commercial transactions and advice in an international law firm and a leading domestic law firm in Sydney for four years.
Sarah holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
Sarah is a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand Inc., the Licensing Executives Society and the NSW Law Society. Sarah is also a volunteer lawyer on the Arts Law Centre of Australia.
