Dr. Julian Soh Ying Teck
Julian graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS), majoring in Chemistry. He pursued his postgraduate studies at NUS, where he was awarded his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry for the organocatalytic studies of Diels-Alder reactions of N-Sulfonyl-3-Hydroxy-2-Pyridones with dienophiles using amino indanols in 2009.
Upon graduation, he took up a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) where he carried out research work on rhodium-catalysed reactions at Kyoto University.
Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson , Julian worked as a senior chemist at MSD International GmbH (Manufacturing Plant) in Tuas, Singapore. He supported the manufacturing activities of the active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) for drugs such as Januvia and Zetia. During his time at MSD he also undertook the technology transfer of desloratadine (API for Clarinex) from Ireland to Singapore.
