Grace’s practice involves drafting patent specifications, freedom to operate searches and opinions, validity searches and opinions, providing advice with regard to patent validity and enforcement and prosecution of patent applications in the chemical field. Grace is registered as a Patent Attorney in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand and is a registered Trade Mark Attorney in Australia.
Grace joined the Chemical and Life Sciences team of Spruson and Ferguson in 2013 after 4 years at the Australian Patent Office where she was an Examiner of Patents in the Chemical examination unit. During her time with the Office, Grace searched and examined PCT patent applications as well as Australia, Singapore and Thai National phase patent applications. Grace therefore has a wide-range of experience with chemical patent applications, primarily in the fields of Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Polymorph Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Protein Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals and is well-acquainted with Australia Patent Office practice and procedure.
Grace holds a Masters of Intellectual Property Laws from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore.
